Anyone else always lighter the morning after a dram?
Am thinking alcohol = dehydration, but usually beer = snacks and wine = cheese, offsetting any losses.
The above doesn't explain why I'm usually lighter the morning after a big greasy chippy though...
's all the dancing, then the puking

Probably some demons escaped. They'll be back with reinforcements though.
Massive, greasy alcopoo.
Diuretic innit.
Noticing one's abs a bit more after a big binge gives an indication of how effective doing a "water cut" is, visually anyway, for many a six pack shot on Insta. Strength and energy wise? Similar to your hangover!
What single malt for the camelback?
Alcohol doesn't dehydrate, it's a myth.
Back in the day before potable water everyone drank weak beer, I don't remember reading about folk drying up and blowing away in the wind.

Alcohol is a diuretic. The reason people didn't die from only drinking weak beer is because weak beer is diluted with water.
Erm, yes it does! Weak beer mightn't, obvs.
Just thinking aloud with a very incomplete understanding of the processes but:
Alcohol does weird stuff with your metabolism and messes with your blood sugar. Could this lead to less stored carbohydrate in your liver/muscles? Each gram of CHO has ~4-5g of water stored with it so you'd lose the mass of the carbs and the water.
I have no idea if this effect happens or would even be on a measurable scale though.
