Did i do it right? i could find one in the search terms.
Everyones favourite lefties are reporting:
In November 2020, Mone’s lawyer asserted that “Baroness Mone is not connected in any way with PPE Medpro”. Barrowman’s [her husband] lawyers repeatedly denied that he was an investor in the company or a consortium supporting it, and said he “never had any role or function in PPE Medpro”.
In December 2020, a lawyer instructed by Mone and Barrowman said “any suggestion of an association” between the Tory peer and PPE Medpro would be “inaccurate”, “misleading” and “defamatory”.
And in February 2022, Mone’s lawyer wrote: “You [the Guardian] have now been placed on notice on numerous occasions of our client’s position in relation to PPE Medpro. She has no involvement in the business … She has never had any role or function in PPE Medpro, nor in the process by which contracts were awarded to PPE Medpro.”
and now in 2023 theyve admited that not only did they have involvement, indeed he was the Chairman and leader and 50% investor of the Medpro consortium!
So, verhment denial, and sending lawyers out to sue anyone who suggest otherwise, but now admitting it was utter bull*?
Took 203 million off the government, orovided products that couldnt be used and ended up gettig incinerated, (?iirc) while
"Barrowman was paid at least £65m from PPE Medpro’s profits, then transferred £29m into a trust for Mone and her three adult children"
at which point do they get sent for hard labour in siberia?
i would put this in the "disproportionatley cross" thread, but i think its pretty reasonable to get cross about it.
