I admire him, man crush alert. Made the most of his talents and then some. Agreed?

Aye, he's a good guy, he'd have to be for putting up with that nugget of a wife for so long.

From people who have met/encountered him (and Romeo) in London, have only had very good things to say.

He is apparently a genuinely nice human being.

Hard to describe really. Let's just call it the "Moggy" effect.

Was he actually a good footballer? seems to me the Beckam brand is overly hyped some what.

I don't much care for all the brand hype shills that surrounds him, but you can't take away the fact that he was an exceptional football player, and I don't even like football that much

Yes. Very good. Key player in a very successful domestic team. One of the first picks for his national squad.

I've always liked him, he has always come across as pretty genuine character, does a lot for chariteee mate, good footballer in his day...always gave 100% especially for his country etc etc. However...

cant help thinking he should have invested money back into the English game, develop an academy here in the inner-cities- give a little back to what launched the guy to having a very successful and comfortable life. Surely he's got enough bucks now and isn't doing this Miami thing for the money?

Also think he could have pro-longed his career in Europe, walked away too early imo but would say that the wife may have been driving that more than him.

His company ran two academies, one in inner city London for a few years. Yes, he could've done more but he did do something.
