the big 4. that made me smile. they all owe there heritige to diamond head. would like that DVD.
I saw Anthrax at Bristol Colston Hall in November '87.. I was 13.. I travelled there by coach from Exeter with my mate.. also 13..
I don't remember much of the gig.. far too drunk.. it was definitely ace though..
what possessed our parents to let us make that trip I do not know..
that is all..
EDIT: I just remembered we also saw Maiden at Wembley arena that year too.. I witnessed someone leap off the top tier into the (not quite in those days) mosh pit..
I was very impressed
nice to see joey belladonna back
A veritable xmas essential - see how Tom Araya forces himself not to headbang....
That would be down to the surgery he had on his spine last year that caused Slayer to postpone their tour dates a few times.
They were still excellent at Leeds without Tom headbanging though.
Dadrock of the second worst kind.:)
Trapped in purgatory!
Seen all these four bands several times over the last 25 years and they are historic metal acts of magnitude.
<wishi'dbeenarockstar>
just ordered on blu ray.mandatory!(suicide)
Loved them all in my youth. Reign In Blood still amazing to this day, as is MoP, as is So Far, So Good, So What!
takes me back, i used to love Metallica, ride the lightning was my fave. i saw them at Monsters of Rock and a few times at the nec. seen slayer and megadeth too.
was some time ago though 🙂
jane
That looks ace! 😀
They should have had Anvil as the extra special 5th long lost cousin. They were right up there with those four in the very beginning and just sort of lost their way. 🙁 I'd forgotten about them and then saw that tragic/hilarious BBC4 storyville on them a while back.
And funny they all end up on stage playing a diamond head song together. I would imagine that amazing collection of rock egos had a big argument about whose rawk classique to play at the end. And Metallica sort of won, as i suppose that is the best cover version any of the four bands did.
Yup at the ripe age of 35 a vet of all those gigs plus ,sepulture, pantera, faith no more and girls aloud amongst others. Don't know what the original linky involved coz my Internet connection is sh¥te but my claims to fame to this day are I got booted of stage (literally) by Phil anselmo (pantera) and joined seps
on their tour bus, all at rock city in Notts!
i went to rock city every week when i was younger, but went back a few months ago and felt so very old 🙁
Is the carpet still sticky restless?
the carpet is gone.. it's like a vinyl floor now, but still sticky yeah
Cant help but look at Metallica with utter contempt now after watching Some kind of Monster, Anthrax way better with John Bush IMO.
Slayer are just amazing and never changed, Megadeath never really got.
Does look like an amazing show, is Scot "Not" Ian the nicest man in metal?
Make my ears bleed...
