Following the post about the Civ 5 give away, I noticed that the Unreal development software is available free.
I am not a "coder" as such, I have done stuff with Visual Basic and quite a few Excel macros back in the day, I got Ok with Fusion last year so know a bit about modelling. But I no IT expert.
Is it worth investing a few hours to play about with it or do you need to invest weeks of your time to get anything done?
There are loads of tutorials on line, any recommendations?
Not looking at actually making anything serious, maybe something akin to a very old 8 bit type game, for my own amusement.
Anyone done anything similar? Where is a good place to start?
