I have a Deco mesh system which has worked ok. However, yesterday the signal kept dropping out every 15-20 seconds before coming back a few seconds later. The Deco app showed no problems. After a bit I noticed that my iphone was showing a new network as being available 'MyNework-Guest' (not its real name!). Did a bit more digging and found an option on the Deco app for Guest network which was checked on. Once I switched this off everything was back to normal.
My question is: Given that I have no recollection of switching this on (indeed I can't remember the last time I opened the Deco app) could this in any conceivable way be some sort of hacking attempt? If so to what end, surely a Guest network will be completely seperate from the main network. If not could this have just randomly switched itself on. I accept the most likely explanation is that I did it myself, but it was only yesterday & I am sure as I can be that I have not been anywhere near the app recently.
I'd go with automatic update happened overnight and the guest network thing turned itself on as part of that. Or someone else was messing in the app, any teenagers in the house looking for sneaky ways to find pictures of naked ladies/men?

I'd suggest either what IHN said, or it's always been there and you've never had cause to look until there was a problem.
