Hi,
Anyone have a vito dualiner they have rigged for carrying mountain bikes? Am keen to see pics of how you vito dualiner owners have kitted it out, particularly carpet lining, ply lining and making best use of the space available. Plus any recs for companies specialising in the latter.
Cheers

Hi, i got a Vito 111 XL panel van which I've had turned into a campervan and it's ace. Had a full conversion done with pop up roof, plus being the long wheelbase you can fit two mtbs in the back both day and night so no worries about security. Had it converted by denny campervans of leek, staffs (can't be arsed for a link sorry, google them).

Cheers, I'll take a look at that. Am also looking to get the lwb version, seems the most practical.

Looking back over previous posts, noticed gavgas uploaded some pics of a dualiner. If he's still around, would like to know how his was done.

Expect the body to start rusting in just a few years!!

As long as you get the 2003 onwards model the body has been fully galvanised so you don't need to worry about rust like the previous version. Mine is 6 years old and still looks spot on (need to get some alloys for it though!).

I had bonded windows put on the side and rear as this was much cheaper than sourcing a dualiner version and look spretty much the same so worth looking into.

Thanks guys
Am kinda committed to a dualiner sport now, a 2010 sport model, so just looking at what options for the rear ie ply lining and carpet finish to accommodate the bikes. Any ideas on what works best? The trim in the rear that comes with the dualiner will last 1 minute or les with my bikes so needs a makeover.

Not a great photo but you get the idea, I would junk the rear trim as its very heavy and theres so much more space without it.

I have moved the speakers into the front as they dont really work in the back.

On a roadtrip I can carry six bikes with five passengers plus luggage no problem, for everyday use I use the double rear seat with a clamp for two bikes and a side bracket to hold one bike by the saddle, the rear door stops the bike moving around.[IMG] [/IMG]

Thanks gavgas, this is How I will go - plenty more room this way.

Looks like you have taken the platsic trim away at the top pillars as well as the bottom trim and then ply lined and carpeted up to the top and across the width of the rear just leaving the original roof lining. Be interested to know what carpet liner and floor liner you used for the job

Much appreciated.
