A soldering iron might struggle a bit, but try one of those long jet lighter jobbies for lighting barbeques, ought to get a nail hot enough.
Worth trying a soldering iron with a largish tip on, you never know.
I use a plumber's gas blow torch and an old screwdriver for such tasks.
Heat the nail/screwdriver above a candle?

Candle, camping stove, gas lighter, kitchen blow torch, plumbers gas torch, etc etc.
(A £10 camping stove is a pretty cheap option if this is something you need to do regularly)
