PS Not my skin, worktop close up. Then splatted it ;-(

PSS Still begrudgingly  admire these guys. Very tenacious.

Get a tick-twister, far more effective than anything else - we sometimes pick as many as a dozen or so from our dogs each day after their walk. Fortunately, we've only had one recently attach itself to a human.

Used a twister..highly recommended. Everyone should have one in their first kit.

Aww bless!  Now that you've bestowed him with a name he deserves at least some kind of Viking funeral... albeit one where he isn't actually dead.  Yet.

I once had one that latched on to my left nipple. My Mrs got it off with a twister.

She may as well have used a blowtorch.

Once removed my prefered method of dispatching them is by way of a burning match. You can hear them go pop.

I got back yesterday from a biking trip up at Aviemore, I removed 6 ticks over the course of the week including one in my armpit that I felt whilst in the shower............needless to say I examined my crevices very carefully over the week.

They really are crafty little buggers

2 this morning, 3 on Saturday. They love it warm and a bit damp.

Last year was the worst....I kept count, and had removed 26 by the end of the summer. Little bastards.

Dog owners, I highly recommend Bravecto. 100% tick free dog in my household when her Bravecto dose is up to date.  It is very clever stuff (tablet, not drops)

The tick season started mid April for us this year, Dog was due her Bravecto treatment in middle of May.  She got around 12 ticks in two weeks, I brought her treatment forward and hasn't had a single tick in the past 4 weeks.  It really works well.

Ticks don't like my blood.  I've never had a tick despite regularly being out in tick friendly environments with pals who have picked up several at a time.

Just to add, this weekend I've read of a fit, outdoorsy Englishman with neuro-Lyme.  He is now blind.  A UK healthcare professional took her own life, she had undiagnosed Lyme disease.
