2013 V70 D3.
Currently on 225 50 r17.
Can I swap for 16" Volvo rims, ideally with 205 60 r16?
Winter tyres time, I can get some second hand alloys from older V70/S80 or C30 that are same PCD/dimensions, and 16" tyres are mucho cheaper for winter.
Not much difference in the diameter of the tyres but you would need to check the offset on the wheels.
It should tell you in the handbook which wheel / tyre size combos are approved for the car.
I’m still searching for a set of 16” rims for my Outlander for the same reason
Should be fine as long as the offset is close and the wheel fits over the caliper, v70s of similar vintage come with 16 to 18 inch wheels depending on model. Just get a bigger profile tyre to compensate.so you don't throw the speedo out too much.
If in doubt, ask the fetishists over at the Volvo forums 🙂
According to websites, it's less than 4mm dia difference.
Offset and studs are same.
My model came with 16" or 17" or 18" wheels.
Nowt to worry about then from what I can see. Unless it's a sporty model with huge brakes..
Just normal SE brakes.
Should be fine.
My phase 2 v70 awd had 16s as standard, think I settled on 215 width tyres as they were cheap at the time.
Edit . I think mine were 55 profile but don't quote me, although there's probably loads of room in the arches for a 60 on 16s 🙂
