Is there any way of tensioning the cable that opens the fuel flap?

Just looked at the drawing in the PDF owners manual I have and it looks like a fixed length cable. Also looks like a pain to change as you need to remove a lot of internal panels to get to it.
Just had another look and im sure you could space the outer cable if the inner has stretched

thanks, think thats what i'll do, as you say a pita to replace.
