Can't believe it's been >30 years since the original! I saved up my pennies and ended up buying a ProCat in 1989. Many happy memories (and less happy ones of thrust bearings and slipping drive belts!). Half the fun was fixing them after each heat 🙂
Is it really sad that I could tell straight away they'd changed the original top and bottom front gearbox screws for bolt through & nut, and added a cover to the pinion and spur gear....

I've got an almost complete original in the attic.
My dad had a chat with Cecil Schumacher a few weeks ago (now 80 ish, out on a Sunbeam Talbot club tour in North Scotland). Said his son now runs the business and the CAT relaunch was massively popular at the trade shows.
Very nice, had various cars, best two were Kyosho Optima Mid Custom, then the Pro Cat. As said a different league to Tamiya, but twice the price.
