There might be some fans on here, and if so then FYI, the conclusion to "The Silver Age" (No 7) was published today.

I've been waiting for its publication since June 2nd, 1993. when I was 25. I haven't really picked up a comic with any regularity from that day to this, just the sporadic big global hits.

If you're unaware of what its all about, its one of the acknowledged progenitor of all the 'gritty superhero: but in real life settings!' that built the tone for the coming decades. June 2nd was the day after the last issue was released by Eclipse Comics, and bought by me from A1 Books and Comics in Glasgow, Eclipse acquired the rights from Quality Communications, who acquired the rights from Mick Anglo. (Or not, as various court cases eventually found...)

Eclipse lost the ongoing right to publish in a series of submergings; one legal, one liquid, as the Russian River in Sonoma County burst its banks and washed them out of business, never to return.

Eventually, after much legal wrangling and the likes of Todd McFarlane claiming title, an unlikely benefactor in the hovering shape of Marvel Comics stepped in. And so did Neil Gaiman, possibly the only writer that could ever fill Moore's shoes and move it on. And he has, and here today for us all, the "Silver Age" finally reached its conclusion, 30 years, 7 months, 15 days after it all kicked off on that sunny Tuesday in June.

So: right then, 'Dicky Dauntless' (or whatever your name really was). Lets see what you made of being brought back back from the dead after the Spook Show destroyed you in an a-bomb over the North Sea in 1963, and being forced to live in a 'perfect world, in a perfect body, forever'. I bet you hated it. I bet you wonder if Johnny had the right idea.....
