The court heard although Miss Moustafa died weeks after the attack, four pathologists had concluded it could not be "reliably linked" to her falling into a coma or her death and manslaughter charges could not be considered.
Surely it's not coincidence that someone falls into a coma while they're being beaten about the head and then dies a week later?
Is there some missing information from this story? Was the poor girl diabetic on in some other way vulnerable to random strokes?
It makes no sense to me as reported, anyone help me out?
I guess they're saying that people in comas don't typically go on to have strokes, and that 4 weeks is a long wait to get a consequence of "impact" such as a haemorrhage (they don't define "stroke" in that, so could've been a bleed). She'll have likely been on something to prevent DVT though, so possible that risk of a bleed was increased due to that
So it's OK to murder foreigners now.
Should be a guilty verdict.
The family should appeal.
Then jail those responsible for life.
So it’s OK to murder foreigners now.
No, just to put them into comas. It counts as affray if you end up killing them.
Apologies for my misinterpretation - thought you wanted someone to try to help make sense of it. 🙄
(It's not a very clearly written piece; I assume that since she's said to have "died of a stroke" that this was an acute event several weeks after the attack, otherwise she'd have died of pneumonia (and/or) aspiration, pressure sores, DVT, ... secondary to a stroke) As a result, I assume they're saying that being in a coma doesn't necessarily lead to a stroke, haemorhagic or ischaemic)
