Anybody watch the latest series? What did you think?
Going to watch the last one in an hour or so, loving it so far.
I thought it was excellent, although it took a little while to work out what was happening in bits and it was little bit gruesome in places, especially for ITV (I may just be getting old though).
Certainly wasn't expecting the ending.
Thoroughly enjoyed it
Brilliant series ..the ending was unexpected but leaves the door wide open for another series ..
Monday night's entertainment has been great as we record the Walking Dead to watch straight after ..
Barn door open for a new series! Glad others enjoyed it. Was surprised to not have seen a thread about it prior.
just finished the first season, really enjoyed it looking forward to more.
the plot was good and liked the character as well, good cast too
Ravs character is a real grower. Disliked him in the first but was liking him in the second. Enjoy season 2.
Was loving it until the final episode then last night watched the biggest load of rubbish I've ever seen in a crime series.
They spend a whole series building up character story lines, then the majority of them don't even show up in the last two episodes and disappear without a trace.
It felt like the only reason for last night's episode was to set up for the third series which on the face of it is shaping up to be just as bad.
How can Marcella blend in undercover and clandestine when she's got a six inch scar down her face?
Another series where the lead character is a liability who creates more problems than they solve - see also Homeland.

How to solve the crime in half the time- just do the opposite of what Rav suggests
Last episode really stretched credulity.
Marcella finds serial killer's second lair complete with wine bottles- realises killer and Marcella's son will be at the family wine premises and doesn't think to phone her police buddies until she's driven halfway across southern England and is just about to enter said premises and confront killer. If she'd bothered to ring them right away they would have had the cuffs on the killer by the time she got there. Doh!
I’ve seen the last one now, it was hard to watch in places.
In the end it wasn’t perfect, but what is?
Lots of people endlessly connected to each other like they were the only 12 people in London.
A lead detective who would have been removed from the case very early given her personal connection to it.
But over-all still really enjoyed it. At least given the way it ended it would have been far fetched to have another series in the same way, the next one could be even better, also don’t worry about the scar, the character has clearly had a tonne of cosmetic work, a bit more to fix the scar won’t hurt 😉
Enjoyed it until the last episode, where characters built up in the series completely dissappeared.
I realise one has to suspend belief in what would actually happen in real life but .... Marcellla had physically assaulted so many people, there is no way she would be employed. She interviewed a suspect who she had fought, and stabbed / cut her daughter. And yet she is involved in the interview ! She consistently leaked / manipulated information and would have invalidated evidence.
and by a quirk of fate , her DNA was switched, and by a miracle they found her under a bridge. Absolute tosh...

To be fair in the first series she left her blood at a crime scene where she thought she's killed someone so she got a cheek swab from a homeless woman and switched it when the nurse took her cheek swab to get her DNA on police records (apprently she went on career break before routine DNA samples were taken from police officers.)
but as for the rest of it yes I agree my credulity has been stretched too far.
Absolutely ludicrously preposterous nonsense!!
We absolutely loved it! 😀
So... why did she cut her face open? Guilt?
What's the connection with the dodgy business guy's wife with the toys in her car? Was she in on it?
What was the care home boss hiding?

What’s the connection with the dodgy business guy’s wife with the toys in her car? Was she in on it?
Her and the other two women at the charity were red herrings. Her kids charity had acquired the toys from her husband's business so we were supposed to suspect either her or the vet and her partner because they all worked at the charity. Especially the vet as she obviously had surgical skills. It was only revealed at the last minute that the killer also volunteered there. Sloppy writing really. In a proper whodunnit all the clues should be out there.
Hopefully No Offence will be back on C4 soon to fill the void left by Marcella.
Or Line of Duty which is in a different class
I found the above really useful, it explains a lot of what happened and why, some of it relies on remembering what happened in Series 1.
We were discussing where they go from here and concluded that by the end of the next series she will have developed superpowers
Or the Botox will have completely immobilised her whole face.
The penultimate one had so many stupid (Brithish series style) bits that it ruined the whole thing for me. The last kept it up by being bloody hilarious. The girl-fight had me in stitches... are they really going to make another series with that face???

Me and my brother texted each other "The Joker" at the same time 😆
