As there's quite a few Manchester based people on this forum I wondered if any could recommend a photographer (for a wedding).

Ideally, the Mrs would prefer a female photographer but isn't dismissive of a male one either.

Thanks

I could recommend myself 🙂

Not based in Manchester but 'just down the road' in Lancaster. Only just started doing weddings but there are a couple of galleries on my website, and one more going up soon.

I guess it depends on your budget and what kind of style you go for. This guy is a friend of mine and is great imo - he's based in London but does quite a lot of stuff up here as he is from the area.

We used this guy in 2005. He was very good. We picked him because he came across as a nice bloke and wasn't "In your face". I've been to some wedding where the photographer has been a right rude PITA.

*SELECTIVE COLOURING ALERT*

😛

Being unobtrusive is good though.

Thanks for the links...I'll check them out.

Would prefer someone not in your face. Don't want posed pictures and would prefer the images to be natural/don't know they're being taken ones (other than the formal ones).

If there's any more recommendations keep posting.

Would prefer someone local'ish too so that they might be familiar with the venues.

Cheers

Try Avid Photography - www.avidphotography.co.uk

Used them for our wedding as the guy who runs it is a friend. Lots
of flexibility with the package and price and a very nice bloke.

Just reread the OP - there is a woman within the avid team as well although I haven't met her.

This guy did ours. Great job, very accomodating, very good with the kids (of which there were plenty around).

MarsdenMan from this forum is a pro shooter and I think his missus is second shooter sometimes

Marsden's only over the hill, and they did live in Sale before moving there...

Away from STW, ANdy and his wife Nic are nice people and take nice photos

Marsdenman from these parts does such things, and he's only just over the hill.

Hi
Have a look at Rhian Askins, super girl and friend of mine. Her work is great, relaxed and imaganative. Really easy going and great to work with.

liverpool based so not far, I'm sure she wouldn't mind doing a few reckies of venues either...

Review her work on www.rockmywedding.co.uk

Blimey...didn't expect as many responses.

Looks like I'll be spending a while reviewing them all.

Thanks.

Not a recommendation, but before spending loads of time reviewing, ring or email to see if they can do your dates. Pain if you set your mind on one to find them unavailable.

I am brilliant 😀 Website link in profile.

Sorry - would have been rude not to.... Half price if you can persuade Mrs Doosuck to have a cycling themed wedding 😉
