Usually go away early December for some sun , either canaries or Egypt , but fancy something new, never been to Malta before and prices are OK for that time of year ... anyone been to Malta late in the year and had reasonable weather ?

We went at this time last year and it was still really hot (33c or so in the middle of the day) so I'd imagine December would still be warm enough.

We went about 3 years ago in December. Was about 18 to 20c during the day but did rain a few times too. It's dirt cheap to get about on buses too, think it was about 2 quid to get round the island. The war rooms/tunnels are worth a visit too.

The cheap all day bus tickets are no more. It's still around €2.60 for a ticket but it's only valid for 2 hours for time of purchase now.

You can buy a week bus pass for €21. Worth it if your planning a lot of travelling around the island. Don’t hire a car. They are all nutters on the road out there.

It’ll be pot luck with weather - you might get a few 18-20C days, you might get a week of 15-17C or cooler.

The sea will be too cold to swim in without a wetsuit.
