Seen a holiday in Mallorca for mid October. Deposit only at moment balance 10 weeks prior. Usually been over cycling by this time of year and would love to get there. I'm prepared to lose the deposit but still a bit undecided. Things will have settled or start of second wave. I'm thinking second wave will be into winter. So whaddya think?

Well I rebooked our Easter visit for October, should have cancelled it really but never mind, fingers crossed.

Personally I wouldn't - apaprt from the chance that it might be cancelled after the 10 weeks leaving you the hassle of trying to get your money back, what if it goes ahead and most things are closed? No restaurants, no access to teh beach without booking, excersise only at certain times of the day etc?

Also I am not sure what travel insurance you would get - what happens if you get ill whilst away with suspected CV?

It's risky, but ultimately only you can decide on the level of risk.

With regards to bars and restaurants, I have an apartment out there and the majority of the bars and restaurants that I would go to are all open now, but at 50% capacity and outside only.

I think that majorca is so dependent on tourism that they will really try and get it moving, but who knows what will happen.

I'm hoping to get out there in July for the first time this year (already had 2 trips cancelled), I'm expecting this one to go ahead.

Just booked it. Balance due early August. I'm prepared to lose deposit if needs be. Hopefully things will settle down by then. Don't expect insurance to cover but jet 2 seem to be treating customers fairly and it's on credit card for extra protection.

I wouldn't, but only because the past couple of times we've been in mid October, the weather has been poor.

They offered us rebook or money back when travel was stopped, but that is unlikely to be the situation in October but if its a case of nothing being open it is unlikely you will get a refund.
