Sorry I can’t search properly as I’m sure this has been done before
Also I’m looking for personal experience
I’m outside Alcúdia .. looking to just fit in a day and get away from beaches .. I didn’t bring any riding kit but I do have some reasonable shoes
I Don’t really just want to hire and try and find stuff by myself or try and get a bike to somewhere worth riding a.. and do tbh in this heat I’d be happy getting an ebike
I did email one place but they didn’t respond ...
Tramuntana Tours based in the Port de Soller are good. Im here at the moment, I’ve hired an Emonda off them for a few days suffering. The road is very hot after about 10.30/11am...
They do guided off-road trips, either on Remedy/Slash or Powerfly. They seem a really good bunch.
Cheers I’ll check that now ...
bike hire is easy, all over the place that side of the world.
Not sure how fit you are but a ride from Alcudia towards Pt Pollensa, then through the lanes to Pollensa town, left on MA-2200 to the recycle centre, turn right through the lanes for Campanet, on towards Moscari then Caimari, then up the MA-2130 Col de Sa Batalla, then right after the Repsol garage to Lluc then right back towards Pollensa is a very enjoyable few hours.
EDIT - and very easy to navigate
Contact Stuart Hall cycling. Superb set up in port Pollença. They will more than accomodste your needs, unless you want to do enduro.
Loads of places to hire but need to get there or get the bike somewhere worth cycling (which to me means no road) ... .. our go to beach seems to be st Vincenc so Pollença is ideal if I can find somewhere worth riding
I might be able to get the OH to drive to Soller and spend the day in valdemosa and deia though or take the car for the day
Seconded Tramuntana Tours in Port Soller. There is also a bloke in Carrer de Sa Lluna in Soller town who hires top-end Pinarellos.
There is a very comprehensive map showing good bike rides on the island, with all the statistics, which I think you can get from tourist offices.
If you've got time to kill while in Port Soller, wander along the front towards the naval port and find Bonnie Lass Charters. They have a gorgeous old Bristol Channel pilot cutter, which you can charter or go out on for a few hours. Good if you like wooden boats or follow boatbuilder Leo in Sampson Boat Company on Youtube.
IF you're looking for a road bike then I've hired Pinarello from The Pinarello Experience in Port de Pollensa.
According to their website; The Pinarello Experience they have e-bikes now :o)

I popped in there yesterday. I think he’s called Boris, really lovely bloke. Pinarello and Specialized, including a few ebikes. It’s only his first year open I think, great espresso too.

I’ve extended my hire with Tramuntana - they are really, really helpful. The roads are hot, but if you get out at 7am they are lovely. Today was properly hot by about 9am. I can’t stress how much I’m loving 30/28 as a combo 😉
Very very definitely no road bikes ...:)
I might go as far as XC type riding but prefer something tech and gnarly. I’m just too lazy to ride up in the heat
Cycling through a forest would be cool though (in both senses) so long as it’s single track
Well ended up finding a local guy and ending up with a 120mm travel giant HT for Monday
I’m now wondering ... most of what looks like fun to ride driving along looks like it would snap 32mm stanchions in half in no time let alone the chainstays that don’t look like they’d take much of a stop with my 72kg let alone adding the mass for the ebike ?
I did check the tramuntana tours and their trek ebike didn’t seem any more rugged .. but so far as I can tell this bloke is operating out of an apartment and wants to meet at the big hotel opposite and is slow at responding to emails ... in fact I’d already asked before I posted but not got an answer (but typing all that before the new site crashes and reloads wasn’t a priority at the time )
The guys Facebook he’s obviously a good road and XC rider who’d drop me in a blink but wondering now what his ideas of technical descents is compared to mine .. (not like I want to try the Mallorca hospitals and riding without pads but I’m not into descending anything you could get a Landrover down )

There are a lot of bike hire places in Porto Pollenca.
Ah well .. lost that post as the forum crashed my iPad
But yeah tj loads of hire places and loads of gravel but I was hoping for a days guided tour on some stuff you can’t drive down and being a lazy sod and getting a ebike that can handle it.
