Recipients of my shop emails see my name rather than my shop.
Its on an ipad.
I've changed my apple account name to my shop's and it still comes up as me.
Help!
Simplest way - set up a new gmail/outlook account for your shop and use the gmail/outlook app for shop emails, switch the current apple account back to being you.
Keeps the two separate to avoid sending the wrong thing to the wrong person from the wrong account.
are you viewing all accounts through one single "master" inbox ?
When I send new emails it defaults to my "master" but I can also choose "send as:" and pick from a longer list. CHeck what the settings are for your default one
(... but as said, I think I'd be keeping work and play a bit more separate than that)
What mail client are you using? My webmail client (blueyonder.co.uk) lets me set up the "sent from:" field which was lastname, firstname so I changed to to First Last. Hidden in the mail client settings.
For iCloud emails You change it in iCloud. On your devices it will always show as you as your name is linked to the contact. Create a generic Hotmail account, send a test to that and it should show as your shop name if you’ve changed it correctly on iCloud.
For gmail accounts, in iOS go to settings, Â accounts, select the gmail account and change the name in there.
Do you have a website? And thus a domain name? Nothing screams "professional" like a free webmail email address.
Dunno anything about iDevices but many mail clients handle the display name separately. Look for a "reply to" address or something similar.
We are setting up a new shop specific ipad
It's just got work emails on it. The apple account name I've changed to the shop.
Just sent another email and it says it's from me not my shop but now has a picture of my wife next to my name.
The old shop/personal ipad says emails are sent from the shop.
If you can install Mozilla Thunderbird on your iPad, you can set up as many "identities" as you like, each with their own "from" address.
It is obviously getting your name & your wife's pic from somewhere. What app are you using to send the emails? If you go to Settings, what name/pic does it have at the top of the screen?
There's a 'from' setting on your email somewhere, that you can change. It's not related to your actual account, it can be anything.
Try this Zippy:
go to settings>accounts and passwords>click on email account you want to change>click account in top bar> then change the name in the name field.
What app are you picking UP the email on.? It might that that is doing the association with your name via your addrss book. Send a mail to someone else and see what they see

My mum has this problem. Her iTunes account is somehow linked to my Dad's name. I've tried everything to change it - iCloud account in theory is how it should happen, but it hasn't. Because of this I have very little love for Apple.
