Maybe not as interesting as the title may imply.

After 20 years loyal service, our clothes maiden has finally died. The old girl popped a rivet in one of the uprights; so it’s probably time for a new one.

Any recommendations?

I have this discussion with Mrs Gob a lot.

It's not a "maiden" it's a clothes horse.

A Pulleymaid is worth fitting, if you use it a lot

Are you suggesting he screws the maid?

Inappropriate at the best of times - but especially so now she's dead.

I'm building a proper drying cabinet into our laundry room when I finally renovate it. Less cost than tumble drier, less mould / damp than drying, easier than a dehumidifier.

The ones I saw last week were Bosch home ones, not the expensive professional ones, and should be @£3-600. Just looks like an upright fridge.

We have one in the utility, which also houses the boiler. Very handy, better than using the freestanding clothes horse.

I have a drying cupboard thing Matt - its great..  Using waste heat from the boiler and plumbing.  takes around 6 -12 hours to dray a machine load of stuff.   the new boiler is more efficient tho so we get less heat in it so we may have to revisit in the winter and put a heat source in it.

Our dehumidifier kicks ou a chunk of heat being a dessicant one. I'm planning on either building an upright cupboard with towel rail and dehumidifier in OR proper Bosch one imported from continent, depending on cost.
