I know we have quite a rock following on here, so what do you guys think of their latest offering? 18th Studio album no less!

Personally I really like it and am looking forward to their tour this winter, although for some strange reason they're missing Cambridge out this time, so I'll be driving to a subset of London, Leamington, Wolverhampton and Norwich. Not that I'm a big fan or anything.....

I loved the Pistachio one. The Double caramel is just too sweet.

I used to love them years ago. I didn't realise they were still going.

What was that album with "Don't Wake the Lion" on it? I loved that one, but Mirador was amazing too.

Have they produced anything near the quality of "How Far Jerusalem"?

Vigilante and On a Storyteller's night are probably their best albums, but their new staff is surprisingly good for a 40 year old band! They're still amazing live, really got a lot of energy for a bunch of OAPs!

I didn't get round to buying "On a Storytellers..." for some reason. I think I started to get into Iron Maiden and Metallica instead.

Loudest band I ever saw at the late-lamented Norbreck Nitespot in Blackpool back in the day (and that included the likes of Saxon, Iron Maiden (with Dianno), Def Leppard, Blizzard of Ozz ... 8) ).

The Spirit from Chase the Dragon is a classic. Not a massive fan of the rest but nice to see they can still keep it up 🙂

Heard the latest single and thought it was 'ok', not heard the album yet. Colour me intrigued though, I used to rather like Magnum when I was younger.

I rediscovered them about 6 years ago after seeing them live at a tiny venue (Rochdale Transport Workers Club) and they were so impressive I got back into them after a 15 year odd lapse....

All their albums are on Spotify if you want to see what their new stuff is like.....

Interesting fact no. 4732472

Several years ago, I went on a few road training rides with Wally (plus others inc. Isla Rowntree) who played bass in Magnum.

The Guitarist from the Wonder Stuff, Malcolm Terrace, is a PT in my local gym and a very good runner!

Saw Magnum numerous times back in the day at King Georges Hall, Blackburn, superb live band even if they didn't get the image quite right . Funnily enough saw Wonderstuff there as well, amazing gig.

Just saw on the interweb last night they were touring and had a new album out so I'm thinking I'll be going to see them. That was just after listening to a CD on way to a crap work thing yesterday - some of the older stuff is awesome - Kingdom of Madness, Invasion, Back to Earth, Great Adventure, In the Beginning and the Storyteller night album.

Had all )I think) albums up to Wings of Heaven, (including various picture discs and the blue vinyl gate fold of Mirador and some of the CD compilations afterwards. Thought Goodnight LA wasn't that great then the album or two after (Rock Art and others) that was a bit rubbish so stopped looking for new stuff.

Got a couple of Bob Catley's solo albums a couple of years ago and they were great, especially The Tower.

Need to have a listen to the newer Magnum stuff, but definitely reckon I'll go see them in Weegieland in November, as I never went to see them before when I was really into them at school (after nicking my brother's copy of On a Storyteller's Night). I reckon I was the only one at school into them mind, everyone else was all Iron Maiden and Guns n Roses.
