Really?

I might have a business trip there next month, Mrs Grips wants to come. Is it really that bad?

Be sure to visit the Prado.

I spent a winter studying there, loved it.

Send me a mail if you want Molly and I'll dig some stuff out over the weekend, it's a very child friendly city from travelling on the metro to going to restaurants.
Las Meninas in Museo del Prado.

Guernica's in Rena Sofia innit?

It is now, it was in a wing of the Prado when I was there in the 80s.

While both the above paintings are spectacular, I found the Goya etchings in the Prado quite something, and a little bit dark.

I don't think a three year old kid will want to spend long looking at a mural of Spanish Civil War atrocities, but she does like looking at pictures to a reasonable extent.

Kids will be 3y and 8mo. So it's zoos, museums with animals or fun stuff, parks, castles, churches are also a hit.

Tell you what, Don, you come too and take Mrs Grips around the place whilst I'm in training courses, that sound ok?

Kids will love the Bosch paintings in the Prado too; beat S Dali to it by more than 400 years! You really know you're not in Britain when you see parents out with kids in pushchairs doing Paseo at 1 O'clock in the morning!

Lovely place, for kid type things to do go to the Xanadu centre for indoor skiing karting and arcades and some shopping. They might like boating in the retiro and the cable car over casa de campo.

Off there in the morning actually, my favourite city to visit.

The Kids might like the cable cars over the parks, see a lot without too much walking.

Trainee. Well, it's more of a conference I think. So perhaps a bit of both.

The 3yo likes to walk a lot, so parks would be good.

A lot will depend on where you're staying, but public transport (metro) is awesome.
If the little one is in a pushchair some areas will be difficult with parking on pavements, no pavements or bollards/lamp posts in the middle of pavements. 😀
Paseo de Castellana is a nice city centre walk.
There's just so much.
CdeC has the park, the lake, attraction park, the zoo and a World Cup MTB circuit.
