Following on from my "suggestions for a quiet boring night in London" thread, I have just caught a glimpse of an online booking for a cheap seat to see Made in Dagenham at the Adelphi tomorrow night.
I actually enjoyed the film, but will the stage show be worth 20 minutes on the tube each way for 7.30 tomorrow night, bearing in mind I'll have been up and travelling from 5.30am to spend 7 hours in a mind numbing course for a job I'm already regretting having applied for?
Obviously I will appear delighted when MrsMC presents me with the ticket later 😉
No one?
fwiw,it was bloody fantastic, but get there quick as the show comes to an end on April 11th. Parental advisory over the language though 😯
The film did an excellent job of highlighting a major social change. Strangely, making a musical comedy out of it has improved it.
Guy at work hated it, his missus loved it. The in laws loved it. I've never seen it though.
It's very "men are useless", depends if you are [s]married[/s] broad minded about that, or a bit sensitive about those kind of jokes.
Best show I've seen in years was "Matilda" at the Cambridge Theatre.
If you get the chance, it's simply brilliant.
I took my mom when it first opened and the language is pretty fruity! We both thought it was good fun though and did a good job of portraying the issues of the time. Also had the significant finge benefit of having one of my favourite actresses in it to [s]ogle[/s] admire ... 😉
The film does all the issues side of things in a much more serious and non-musical way. Teenagers should be made to watch it to see how backward things were even in their parents lifetime.
