Anyone stayed here? Anywhere to put bikes?
Mick
Yeah we've stayed a couple of times, mainly because it has a pool with a wee flume that our 5 year old loved, gave us backup for rubbish weather.
Playpark is nice, cinema is pretty decent and do free showings if you're a guest (actually check that, pretty sure it was free. Was only kids movies when we stayed last).
Our family room was small and a bit tired. We didn't care as didn't spend any time in room, but it has put us off for longer stays when we might want to chill out or hide indoors if raining.
Restaurants were fine, standard hotel fare really. They stored our bikes in a room off the reception for us, wasn't super secure, they weren't exactly closely monitoring who was coming and going, so I locked bikes to be sure.
Stayed there many years ago.
Are you thinking of hotel or chalet? If the latter then bikes will be less of an issue. Many of the chalets have a conservatory which would work I think. If hotel, then just call and ask as it'll depend on which of the the hotels you end up in.
Bike theft isn't a huge problem in the area but there were a couple stolen off the roof of a car last year.
Only thing I'd say is book somewhere incase you end up at coylumbridge which funnily enough my autocorrect tried to make to colon bridge
We stayed at the High Range Motel last year. It really surprised us how big and nice the room was for the money.
The staff were good about carrying bikes in and allowing us to store them indoors - just pleaded no mud as they had had a few Muppets who wheeled in muddy mountain bikes down cream carpet...We had already taken black bin bags to stand them on and used the garage jetwash to clean them.
A few other folks in the chalets there had them locked to the balcony.
Cheapest option is "Classic One Bedroom Apartment" (not very cheap)
I was there on a work thing last year. We had a few bikes and, as above, we stored them in a room just by the reception. Definitely not secure, but it doesn't really feel like a high crime area tbh. There doesn't seem to be any purpose-built secure bike storage, which is a shame. Otherwise it was fine. Trying hard to be better than fine, if that makes sense, but slightly frayed around the edges. But basically decent enough with okay food, facilities etc.
The decaf coffee at breakfast was instant, which I thought was a bit lame though. How difficult is it to provide half-decent decaf? Then again, it's not the end of the world either.

We stayed there a few years back when it was the Hilton(?), we had a nice few days. Shame it's ended up a Brittania and is seemingly heading downmarket.
Booked!
Did you get an answer about bike storage?
