I have a late 2011 MBP which has suddenly developed an issue with the screen. When there is black on the screen I can see what can only be described as green 'snow' everywhere, little green or white dots all over the screen. You can only see it on a black background.
I have my fingers crossed it is not the graphics card or worse the logic board.... Googling the issue hasn't turned up a definitive issue. Can anyone help me out before I book a genius appointment?

I had this problem. They covered under warranty about this time last year, but the programme MAY have ended by now. Give them a call! Fingers crossed for you...

I did buy from apple with AppleCare but that has run out...
Would the statutory warranty cover me? Can you explain how that would help?
