You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
Dear Mac-ists, I'm using my work MacBook Pro but via System Preferences> Screensharing viewing it on my 27" home iMac for a better physical working position.
Thing is, I still get a 13" view of the MacBook, not the full 27" display - how can I achieve the latter?
Thanks
depends on the model year. Target display mode is only on the older macs. From 2015 you need to use Remote Desktop like vnc (there are many others). Downside of this approach is lag and size limited to 17”
I used to do it with teamviewer from mac to pc and home laptop, i was limited to the screen res. If you want to get it any higher you need to figure out how to unplug the display. On a desktop, that's easy, just unplug it, then you can set it to what ever res the graphics card (on the remote computer) can handle, you still probably wont' get full screen on the imac, but you should get bigger. On a laptop, well, I never did figure out how to turn off the display, so was always limited going to that.
