Am after a cheap and cheerful but hopefully decent quality macbook case. Anyone recommend anything? Just for in the house to stop it getting scratched.
My cats backside tends to do a good job on both of mine. Do you want a hard one of soft one.
Don't mind really. Just one that'll protect it.
I can highly recommend CushCase: cheap, cheerful, effective but (mine at least is) well made. For a more sophisticated look try Snugg cases. I have one for my Macbook and love it. The former is a velcro closure (which is a bit noisy), the latter is magnetic
Forgot to add it needs to be something that stays on when I'm using it. So I'm assuming maybe some sort of a hardcase which clips on to it maybe better.
I use something similar to this - https://www.incase.com/shop/products/cases/hardshells/
Getting them from the Apple Store is expensive, they can be found cheaper online, I think mine was about £10-12 from Amazon. I like it as it still protects the case when using the laptop and it will fit in a neoprene sleeve etc. if I need to take it somewhere.
Forget my suggestions then
I got one of these
"Rubberized Hardshell Hard Case Cover For Apple MacBook 11" 13" 15" Air Retina UK" In November not checked to see if they still sell them.
from "ukshop-best4you" on ebay for 5.99 included a very snug fitting keyboard cover as well, case fits perfectly, absolute bargain.
I got one of these:
Two piece that clips on and is thin so it doesn't bulk up the macbook. It's plastic so you can wipe it clean too.
I bought a Thule Gauntlet hard case for a tenner from Argos the other day..

MBP has a Tech21 shell case on from the Apple Store, it was gift but costs £60.
The MB Air has an Inateck shell case from Amazon at £15.
The Tech21 has an added layer of impact protection but only slightly thicker and the clips that hold it on haven't moved. The Inateck case stills offers protection from knocks and scratches but the clips tend to come off when caught before snapping straight back into position. Given the choice I would have the Tech21 but it would need to be cheaper.
