Driving from Brizzle to Exeter tomorrow down the M5.
Any tips close to the motorway with short walks, nice cafes (amazing coffee a bonus) and other facilities that may be useful to a family with a 6 week old baby?
It only takes an hour..
It will be part of a longer 3 legged journey, and we will have some time to kill as our hosts in Exeter have full time jobs till 5pm on a Friday (the humanity!).

Come off Junction 30 and turn left .
Follow the A376 to first roundabout then head across it onto the A3052 towards Sidmouth .
About 3 miles up the road on the right is Greendale Farmshop. Nice shop , cafe and a little zoo there .

Little bit further down the M5 is Haldon Forest if you want a nice walk

Sheppy's Cider for some cider (duh!) or Rumwell for a fancy but reasonably priced donut. Both have excellent cafes and playparks for little ones; just off junction 26..
Too far for the OP, but for anyone further into Devon, the Hog and Hedge services just off the A30/A383 junction to the north of Dartmoor is a traffic little stop. Definite small format Tebay vibes
The Extra Mile Guide is great, though I'm not sure how venues get on the list.
We are in between J25 and 26 of the M1, and an excellent cafe is listed. To get to it you go with 200 yards of an equally excellent and much quieter cafe, and an equal distance in a slightly different direction takes you to a wonderful cafe with a mini farm park and seperate room for under 10s.

Pynes farm shop just off J24. Fab sarnies (including freshly roasted beef, or a whole pig if you're really hungry 😉). Only outside seating though.
