Staying in a hotel on Stuart Street. I need somewhere reasonable to eat and then drink within hobbling distance.

Recommendations please.

Noticed the Kink Bar just down the road is advertising as Luton's Best Gay Bar so a list of places to avoid might b handy.

If there are any locals on here who want to meet for beer then let me know.

Can you not stay in a surrounding town/village?
Lot of nice areas around Luton with good eateries, lots about Luton in this thread 🙂

Have fun!

I will be staying somewhere else next week. Various things conspired to put me here this week.

Walked past the gay club and two adult shops to find Papa Is. Seems nice enough so let's hope the food is good too

Good Indian Restaurant - Upper Wellington Street - Red Chilli

If you are staying in the Icon Hotel then the Restaurant is just around the corner.

Okayi am trying a Chinese at Man Ho. mainly because it isn't an Indian and isn't a take away. Seems nice enough decor. I was the only customer when I walked in but two more people have turned up with reserved tables. Hers hoping!

You should be ok at the Man Ho usually quite busy.

Had a number of meals there and not been disappointed.

Prawn toast starter was prawn toast so not much wrong with that.

1/4 duck and pancakes were good.

Service unobtrusive but prompt which is good.

Main course to go but feeling a bit full. Let's hope the goodness continues

Strange - I saw this thread heading yesterday and didn't get chance to read it. Then today I meet worldclassaccident in the office.

Good to meet you! 🙂

Hi Simon*

I think I deserve some kind of medal for recognising the STW Screen picture while walking to the coffee machine and then waiting until I had some Big Bike Bash flyers before actually introducing myself.

*not sure why I am posting Hi to someone sat less than 20 feet away
