I'm going York tommorow for the Tour De Yorkshire and looking for a change from the usual Mcds, Subway etc

Any decent Cafes / Pub food recommendations ?

Cheers

York brewery pubs generally have decent food.

How about the Walmgate Ale House - used to be called Meltons Too, just a name change apparently.

Your Bike Shed. Although it might be a bit busy.

Oscars isn't bad - preferred it before it moved though.

Bicis y mas. Veggie cycling cafe down walmgate. Great food. Lovely home made cakes and decent coffee.

This..

Used to be a great night out too... The DJ upstairs used to bang out some proper choons to get the night started.

Actually thinking about, now whisper this, it's only for those in the know (or who can get a seat at least), the Pig & Pastry on Bishopthorpe Road.
On the route, excellent well priced food, and next to the Bishy Road street party. I recommend the eggs Benedict.

There's a couple of other Bishy Road cafes too.
