[Closed] Low water pressure - what electric shower?

My shower has finally given up the good fight. I'd like something that will take my face off.

Not sure if it makes a difference but I have a combi-boiler, and, as mentioned in the title, terrible water pressure.

Any recommendations?

The most powerful (kW) you can fit - more power = less restriction on the flow of water - asssuming you're going to fit and electric one to the cold feed.

Otherwise, if you're going to use the hot feed then the pressure will really just be determined by what comes out of the combi.

I *think* I'm going to fit an electric shower to the cold feed - otherwise the boiler would fire up every time I wanted a shower, is that right?

They should really cover this shit at school.

Yes, that's right - you'd need a different shower for that.

In which case, as I said, the most powerful one you can fit - be aware that you may need beefed up wiring if you already had that in place so make sure you check!

Good advice ^^^^^ on the wiring

IMO - I'd get one that runs off the Combi

if you run a mixer off the combi the max pressure you ll get will depend on the spec of your combi typically the lower kw the lower the flow rate of hot water it will also be heavily impacted when someone turns on another hot water tap.. the combi will also fight against the temp control on the shower as both will be mismatched.. so you may get a cold or red hot dose of water occasionally..

you need and electric shower.. google ones suitable for low water pressure something from mira should fit the bill.. make sure the elctric cable is up to the job only a sprky can do that in honesty and bobs your uncle.. the sparky should fit the thing as well in normal circs

We have 2 showers.

One runs off the combi (an old worcester 240 IIRC), one is a 9Kw electric.

We get more pressure out of the combi fed one.

When I get round to renewing the bathroom, the electric one will be getting replaced by a combi fed one.

My boiler is a baxi duo-tec 24. I'll speak to the electrician about it, see what he says.

Cheers
