So, i had Oakley flak jackets and thought they were great until they got damaged. Looking for a new pair for gravel (with some road) / mtb riding. What do you recommend?

Something with polarised glass is a priority if you want to reduce low sun glare.

When I did the SDW back in July I realised the sun would be a bit of a pain later in the day as I was cycling Eastbourne to Winchester. I bought an Asssos summer cap which is well ventilated. I was worried it might be too hot under a helmet but it was absolutely fine. I really like the ease of flicking the peak up and down as it's needed. I don't like wearing particularly dark glasses as I find on road under trees it gets hard to see the difference between shade and potholes. Not sure how it'll work with very low sun in the winter but I'm sure it will help.

For glare/low sun, I don't think there's anything that doesn't end up being too dark as soon as riding in another direction. This time of year I find the Oakley Prizm Trail works well in most light other than bright summer sun, and a cap under the road lid. Use the same principle as driving - treat the cap as the sun visor.

I have Julbo Stream polarized. They are really good - I have a big fizog and they cover eyes and eyebrows well. Vented when riding or walking, and it works OK. Comfy. Dark without being too dark. The polarizing comes into its own on water or very low sun with reflections (this morning's drive to work).

I would like to buy same model but with the reactiv lenses - stwHannah liked them.

+1 for polarised lenses. Ideal for low sun on wet tarmac
