Hi
I'm doing a simple rectangular building in visio and looking to see how you can position items within the building accurately and also specify a set distance between items? There are 8 items that I want to set 900mm apart.
Cheers
I'm not going to be much help as I'm pretty clueless about Visio; however I do have an old [2007] version on my PC.
I'd assumed that there'd be simple x,y positioning as with Word objects but it wasn't obvious nor was it available in an object's properties.
However if you go to the View menu there's a menu toggle for the Size & Position window that does allow x,y positioning of objects. I can't find a way of positioning multiple objects a certain distance apart (although it might be in there somewhere) but at least this can be done manually.
The View menu also allows the turning on/off of various other toolbars; the View toolbar looks like it might be handy to have on all the time and allows the easy toggling of various windows including the Size & Position one.
Change package now. Visio is a hateful program.
Stick it in PowerPoint and add margins.
Visio is plop.
If you click on the dimension of the object, along the bottom ribbon, it will open a box which allows the exact positioning by setting the X & Y co-ordinates.
