Whereabouts? Northumberland is pretty large. Have you got transport?

Plenty of glorious beaches, castles and Roman ruins if that's your thing.

Or "Animal: Inside Out" is on at the Life Centre in Newcastle if seeing the internals of plasticised animals laid out like an exploded diagram in a Haynes manual is your thing. (Good place if you have kids in tow too)

Beaches? Bamburgh and Beadnell are both miserable and horrible. Don't go.

Bamburgh awful.

Beadnell. Also miserable.

Don't go.

Kev is a good lad, he'll look after you regardless of ability. 😀 If you already know what you're doing then he'll show you the good spots. He also does SUP and Coasteering.

I did a tour of the Northumberland coast hunting out waves for my SUP a few weeks ago, can definitely recommend Beadnall and Bamburgh.

Stunning.

Otterburn is quite inland, Alwinton (Coquetdale valley)is not to far, stunning valley, run up Windy gyle and environs on the border ridge.
