Looks like our car may be dead.

Don't want to rush buying another. Does anyone know anywhere that rents long term? Maybe a month or two?

I think Volvo do offer that, as a subscription from new.

It won't seem super cheap but considering everything is included (even insurance iirc) for a new car it's a convenient deal.

I'm sure others will do it

And I think the car rental places do it too.

I think all the big hire car places offer longer term rents + there's the electric car ones now (like https://on.to) that specialise in monthly all inclusive rentals.

If mug new car is delayed, I will be getting a Zoe EV from on-to as linked above.

Don’t know if this helps but my work have provided me with a long term hire car as my new car has such a long waiting time - it’s from Enterprise and we get a special rate as the term is over 90 days long.

https://elmodrive.com/ are similar to onto. Can be a struggle to get anything at short notice though, they're as affected by the long lead times on new cars as anyone else.

The hire firms do longer term (>30 days) but prices of everything have gone mental there too. Gone are the days of being able to get a Corsa for £20/day.

my brother was in a similar boat a few months back. He just bought any old car from the showroom with a 3 month warranty on major faults and he's just sold it back to them for far less (in difference) than hiring would have been. If you have a few K in cash might be worth considering - especially as lead time for whatever you want to replace the dead one with may be longer than you think unless you are just going to take whats available.
