Hi all
Planing a quick trip Malvern\long Mynd way next weekend.
Not sure on conditions and routes and therefore whether better to take gravel or mtb?
Also if anyone can recommend site or place to stay in my campervan that’d be awesome
Not sure on the camping, but I normally park in the National Trust car park at Carding Mill valley. The start of the climb up Carding Mill valley after the stream crossing is pretty hard. Don't think I've ever cleaned it, even on an eeb.
Then over the tops past the trig point towards the gliding club, down Minton batch, back up the fire road (look out for cheeky all the way up, mainly on the left) back gliding club and straight down into that valley down a real fast decent with switchbacks. Back up a git of a road climb to the tops, back past the trig point, carry on past Carding mill valley and over the golf course coming down a crazy steep grass bank to the clubhouse, then round and back down into Carding Mill car park.

LOVE the Mynd.

MTB. You could construct a gravelly ride around there, but IMO you won't get the best out of it that way.
There's a lovely little campsite at Small Batch.
