I had never heard of the London Bike Show until about an hour ago, and I am wondering if anyone on here has ever visited it. We have discussed the sad state of The Cycle Show at the NEC before - and I was deeply disappointed this past autumn when I visited - but I was wondering if the London Bike Show would be better.
Any experience? And insight?
I definitely won't be returning to Birmingham in the near future - unless I hear that the show there has been radically improved.
I’ve been to both. I went to Birmingham last year and feel the same as you, extortionate car parking and a mediocre show means I won’t be going back any time soon.
I went to the London show in a couple of years ago and I’ve not felt the urge to go back. Think Birmingham show but in London and you’re not too far off.

That's just sad. I used to love going to shows like these when I was a kid, and thought it would be good to take my kids.
Why on Earth can't the cycling industry come up with a decent and worthwhile show?!?
I know, I remember going to Bike ‘95 and Bike ‘96 in London and they were awesome shows. I even met Jason Mcroy!
Loved going to cyclex at Olympia as a kid.
But that was the best way to see all the new exciting stuff. There was no interwebz back then.

Yep, they don't really have anything unique to offer visitors, last time I went to the NEC one I was very disappointed.
Haven't been for a few years but the last few bikes shows I've been to have been very average (london bike show, Spin London, something else I can't remember, all in London
They're quite small . It's an interesting walk around if you can get a cheap ticket, but not worth anything more than a tenner at best. Unless of course there are good shows or talks you want to watch
By the time you go to a show you know all about the new gear, you have seen some of it in bike shops and is it worth travelling unless there will be bargain deals at the shows.
I really think those kinds of traditional show are looking to a grim future.
Shows like Bespoked offer something new at a reasonable price and something like Sea Otter or the big ones in Europe where you can get on a bike and go for a ride would be great if you could rely o the weather, otherwise as margins get tighter I can see the demise of quite a few shows and not just in cycling.
