Made a start on cutting/splitting my latest wood delivery at the weekend

I've got about 2.5 cube done so far and there's probably another 3 waiting to cut. The trunks are taking some time to get through and my 56cc Stihl 034 with 16" bar and non-safety chisel cut chain is getting a serious workout!
On the plus side my log splitter is handling pretty much everything with ease. I can barely lift some of the rings!
I've decided that my existing crate storage method, although OK, is just not going to hack it as I've got 3 cube already in crates, 1.5 cube of 3" diameter stuff stacked in the barn and a further 7 cube that needs to go somewhere undercover.
So it's time for a [drumroll] logstore 😀
It's going to sit behind the wood in the picture where it's fairly open, faces south and will be sitting on gently sloping concrete. I'm planning on it being about 2.1m high at the front, roughly 4m long and 2m deep (including overhangs) but I have a couple of questions:
1) I have some fencing rails hanging around not doing much so I'm going to use them but I don't have enough suitable for uprights - is 4 x4 OK or does it need to be bigger?
2) As it's going to have a load of wood inside it, will I get away without holding it down with bolt down supports?
*looks outside at bits of tree being blown past*
4x4 posts are what I use and are more than up to the job. You could make a wee L shaped bracket to hold the leg to the ground. Rawl bolt it to the concrete and coach screw it to the leg. I wouldn't chance it without some sort of anchor. It would take off like an umbrella. Recycle what you have for the sides. It will all add rigidity.

Nice idea.... I'll do that.
