Thinking of a new loft ladder and making use of the possible storage space up there. There's two versions of the ladder I'm looking at. One has a U value of 0.76, but for an extra £100, I can get it with a U value of 0.51
Am I ever likely to see a return on that extra £100 if I fit the better insulated one?
House is mid 1990s with 250-300mm in the loft, double glazing throughout, cavity wall but no really "extra" effort to be an energy efficient home.
No
Got any links to the ones you're on about?
No +1
Depending on the design, you could add a layer of kingspan to the hatch to improve the cheaper one.
Thanks folks.
