Having switched to a combi boiler I can now get easy access to my full attic. I need to upgrade the loft insulation both under the old water tank and surrounding area where access was hard before.
Standard fibreglass stuff is fine. Maybe 5 to 7 rolls. Anyone know offhand the best place to buy?
3 years ago I did some research and bought from roofingsuperstore.co.uk.
I had a load of the recycled plastic bottle insulation delivered on a pallet this week. More expensive than glass but much nicer to deal with.
Where was the recycled stuff from? Just got a 70s house to do up and the existing insulation doesn’t even between fill the roof timbers. I’ll be needing a house worth up to the max sensible spec. It being nicer to work with and a nice cold snap to work in would be perfect. Fortunately only lighting circuits and shower ducting to work around.
Thanks for replies. Looks like taking delivery costs into account I am as well just finding the cheapest buuilders merchant or DIY shop for a small quantity like I need.
While googling I also saw these downlight covers which I hadn't known about. Currently my downlights are just clear of any insulation. Time to buy a few of these as well.
