Was just checking I had the correct number for 'blue' Loctite, the medium strength universal liquid stuff that we all like, (it's 243 for your future ref). Anyway, one of the search hits was for this semi-solid form of it, 248.

That looks useful and not mad expensive either at 7 quid a stick from Halfords. Anyone used it? Drawbacks?
- Been using it for a couple of years, nothing has broken/fallen off and I haven't died (yet). Application is a doddle.
And point 2 is? 🤣
I've had a stick of 248 for years, it seems to work.
I always thought the liquid form was 242 but I see that 243 is more suited to oily surfaces.
Never heard of that before, but handy stuff to have around; just make sure the label stays on, in case it gets mistaken for a lip-balm…
I’m getting two of my bikes back up and running at the mo’, and various bolts and screws are looking a bit manky and corroded, so my plan is to replace everything possible with stainless Torx bolts and screws, a stick of that looks like a neat, non-messy thing to keep with my most used tools.
Good for certain things on my bow - the amount of vibration through that soon shows up things that need to stay tight.
I've had a stick of 248 for years to (also lost it's lid many years ago but it hasn't dried out), seems to work. Doesn't taste great though (if you forget you had some on the end of your finger, I'm not snacking on the stuff).
248 I find to be more convenient but I read it has a breakaway of 17Nm and 243 is 26Nm, so liquid better for E bike crank bolts and big come loosey things.
I've used that 'Pritt-Stick' 248 one for the past couple of years and nothing has come loose. It's a lot less messy too.
