One line summary. 2 brilliant rock climbers climb some plastic holds on a very big chimney

I thought this was a good watch. I'm a Janja fan. Amazed to discover that she had never done a multi pitch route. They managed to shoehorn in some quite interesting stuff on gender differences on different styles of route. If you don't watch indoor climbing Janja has been a bit of dominant force in women's indoor climbing. Quite interesting to see her being put under pressure. Dominic comes over well too, but I'm happy to right him off as just her boy friend 😉

I couldn't find a good Janja intro video and you only really get a feel for how good she is when you see the other athletes go first.

The wikipedia page gives a good over view of her career

Thanks for that. I've saved the chimney climb for later after watching a couple of the youtube shorts.

Looking at the Red Bull site I found Rob Warner out of his usual comfort zone...

I've always been quite comfortable with heights. That chimney however is simply insane. I just don't get the physics of things like that. How come it doesn't get blown over in a stiff breeze? So much weight and force through such a narrow structure.

Same way a skyscraper doesn't.

Shared this with my brother who’s a keen climber. Apparently it’s all about Molly Thomson Smith now 🤷😅

I'm disappointed from the title it's not a trad climbing chimney.

Yep Molly Thompson Smith is on the rise. My all time favorite Instagram post was her finger sliced from end to end during reconstruction surgery

Not sure Janja has made it to the grit yet

'What's he/she done on grit'.

I asked someone I loosely know who climbed comps. Apparently Masters Edge , but he was only a kid then

Yeah, but could she do it at Stoke on a cold, wet Tuesday night?

Looks good, saved for later. Cheers.

Pah, that route's been up nearly 40 years now! 🙂

Oh I thought it was what has Janja done on grit?

As Molly loves in Sheffield she does climb on grit. But not sure I know of anything exceptional. The the problems I recognised I had done 😳

But she has done Mecca. Which is testament to the narrow gender in climbing. When I was climbing it was the hardest route in the country
