Weve got a new hilux and it's got a liner within the rear body section. However the top edges are completely unprotected and very prone to damage. Anyone found a solution or product to protect it?

Screw some 2x1 timber on to the top edge with self tappers. Yes it will look shit, but it's a pickup, it came out of the factory looking shit.

Is it a double cab you have ?
I think I remember you saying you had a Ranger before. How do you find it compares ?
Looking at the 2019 Wildtrack with the Bi-Turbo at the moment, but have an eye on the Toyota too

Some sort of huge  polished stainless steel roll bar?

With lots of lights on it?

@revs1972 I had a wildtrak for a courtesy car for about 6 weeks 2 years ago after our car was run in to, loved it over that period but i decided against having one as a work vehicle as clambering in and out of the back was a ball ache. I've had my dciv tranny just over a year now and it's a better motor all round for my needs. Weve got this hilux for my labourer to use, it's a single cab tho but as a load lugger its brilliant, easily chuck a pack of bricks on the back or bag of sand if we need something quick for one of my sites, however its "agricultural" at best, but whenever I drive it it feels like it could pull a house down.
As for those caps you linked to, they are bang on for the job just need them in the bigger size.

You bought him another one? Didn't he total the last Hilux, or is this a different labourer?

Get a local sheet metal fab place to bend some aluminium sheet to the right profile? Seen some with Ali angle but this looks a bit industrial.
I have the plastic ones on my Ranger though.

Paint the whole bed (and anything else you want to render invincible) with Raptor Liner.

Google it.

Sounds like they gave you the wrong load liner - you want an ‘over rail’ version, you’ve got the under rail that you would use when fitting a canopy. Can you exchange or px?

but whenever I drive it it feels like it could pull a house down.

Or launch a counter-insurgency against a government with a set of Bofors or a reclaimed helicopter rocket pod glommed onto the bed...

@sharkattack I reckon that's what the backs been done with. I said to a bloke I rang at toyota yesterday it looked like it had been sprayed on as it followed every molding perfectly.
It was a full brand new insurance replacement for the old one so its basically just how it was delivered. The old one had the overail liner. Don't suppose there's anything we can do now.
