One planet adventure are saying 5 inches of snow up top, Has anyone tackled these trails in the snow? I am a bit nervous as to all the wooden board walk sections and how much of an ice rink they may become?

I've never done it in anything other than snow.

Not sure it was 5" though

Done it in snow some years back. Was fine though again not sure it was 5”. The bits in the woods were relatively untouched by comparison. Though those bit’s are probably all in the open by now! Still, what have you got to lose, you can always walk bits that are a bit too much

Would think getting there would be more worrisome than being there.

Some of my most memorable rides at Llandegla have been done in the snow. Arguably, one of my most memorable rides overall was there in many inches of snow when the trail centre was shut... In fact, now I think about it, I've ridden there more in the snow than I have no snow!

Personally I find degla a little dull/boring most of the time, the snow adds a much needed element to it IMO. That said... Remember that nobody is there to help you out when you're riding in such conditions, it's effectively no longer a trail centre ride as such as a result. Also, you need to allow quite a bit more time than otherwise because of the harder going in the snowy conditions, and I'd suggest packing lights just in case you go beyond sunset (so glad I did the one time, it would have been desperate otherwise!) which is far easier than you might expect...

I'm yet to ride there in the snow since I bought a fat bike ironically, which is the holy grail! But given how hard the underlying trails are, it still rides pretty well on anything in the snow in my experience.

Did it in the snow years ago before they cleared all the trees so the trails probably had more shelter and were more ridable then than they would be now after a dump of snow

Made it today, loads for snow, fresh in the main which helped with grip, board walks were interesting with the off camber sections, however good time had by all, although very cold!!
