Hi ..I've got to go to formby Saturday so instead of traveling there and back in one day . I fancy traveling up Friday afternoon with the wife and having an overnight stay . The premier inn Albert docks was recommended but unfortunately this Friday it's fully booked . Can anybody recommend anywhere nice for a one night stay ?
No real criteria. Doesn't even have to be in Liverpool city centre , just nice surroundings and have somewhere locally with good food
thanks in advance
Spent a v/nice weekend here http://www.titanichotelliverpool.com/ a few months back, it's not cheap thou.
There is a Holiday Inn Express at Albert Dock
If you are after fancy then Moor Hall in ormskirk (about 5-10 miles from Formby is supposed to be excellent. https://moorhall.com/contact/
Its just won a michelin star which will give you an idea of price range.
In liverpool centre at the normal end of the eating price range - Lunya is a nice tapas bar and Free State Kitchen is a great burger bar.
Whatabout tbe premier inn i liverpool one, very central.
Stayed at the Hope Street Hotel shortly after it opened. It was very nice then and not overly expensive. It might be ridiculous now. But it's a good location.
I recently stayed at the Alicia hotel, right on Sefton Park which is the best thing about Liverpool in my book.
I am Liverpool next Wednesday night . Is there a good cheap 24hr car park thats centrally located ?
Going to SIBA BEERX and staying at the Anarch(ist ) hotel iirc
Hope Street Hotel is a good shout, its in a conversation area with cobbled streets, with 60 Hope St, Quarter, London Carriage Works and the bistros around the Everyman all good for food.
Friday and Saturday nights get booked up, with locals and hen/stag dos for a night out. So just be aware some areas like the ropewalks (Duke St to Bold St) and around Mathew St can be noisy but are also where the action is! You need to book a table for dinner anywhere with a good reputation.
I really like Aloft but it is unfortunately sold out. There are other options around Dale St, which is very good for beer pubs and restaurants as long as you avoid Mathew St itself (touristy). I get the feeling that in amongst the chain eateries, there are now some really good places around Liverpool One. So an aparthotel around Duke St could be good, cheaper than the big brand hotels and easy walking distance to that area.
If you actually don't want a big city night out, then Waterloo (Crosby) has some very nice restaurants (especially the nepalese) and you could visit the Gormley statues.

Parking in Liverpool is a pain or it is expensive. No idea where your hotel is, but secure parking in the NCP or QPark car parks around the waterfront or financial district (Wapping / Moorfields / Pall Mall) will cost about £20 for 24 hours. Iif your hotel is in that area, ask them if they offer a discount. On the waterfront King Park on Wapping is cheap but I have no idea how full it gets. I wouldn't advise using the Mount Pleasant multi storey as it locks at night. A comprehensive list: https://www.liverpoolecho.co.uk/whats-on/shopping/cheap-parking-liverpool-how-much-9426751
