You don't need to be an 'investor' to invest in Singletrack: 6 days left: 95% of target - Find out more
A few weeks ago there was a listing for a fairly expensive (slightly niche mower content) item that was up for auction but had an email to request a BIN.
I was interested but the listing disappeared before the end of the auction.
Last night it was back with 2 days to run and one or two bids. I emailed requesting the BIN price and I got a reply along with extra pictures which were obviously taken a number of weeks ago.
The BIN price is really good (still ££££) and includes delivery within the UK but the seller insists that the sale goes through eBay and that there is a 14 day refund policy. No mention of cash only payment.
The thing is the listing has disappeared again from everywhere inc completed listings.
I've emailed this morning requesting clarification of a couple of points but no reply yet.
Should alarm bells be ringing?
Haha... decided to investigate so emailed asking him to call re payment.
Had a call within 10 mins from a Russian sounding chap who apparently was in Aberdeen!
With alarm bells ringing wildly I told him I'd have a think about it and hung up. Quick google of aberdeen + ebay + scam reveals a number of hits.
In handsight I don't think I'll bother!
