Great album. Favourive album of the 90's. They released all of the singles from the album in limited edition vinyl.

I know it's not Urban Hymns but this is a great live performance.

Anyone who has not seen it should watch Rolling People from that Wigan gig. Crowd are bonkers.

It is but not as much as A Northern Soul! So it Goes is genius!

Great album, though I prefer a Northen Soul for History alone. I too was at Haigh Hall, great gig and DJ Shadow, Beck and John Martin supporting.

Nick Macabe is really underrated IMHO, very tastful and always a little bit different. The drummer is really good too. Shame Fourth was soooo bad.

Don't read this if you don't want to have the album ruined.... why the f does he sing in a terrible American accent all the time? Especially on his solo stuff. He's (supposedly) proudly from Wigan, isn't he?

sorry I'd had I'd a pint or two. I meant the stuff earlier than Urban Hymns is really good (read different in a good way) Verve had quite a following before the success of Urban Hymns although I love this album too.Not explored the albums but got their first few released cd singles. Some of the B tracks sound kinda experimental.

I loved Urban Hymns back in the late 90's. I missed A Northern Soul though apart from This Is Music (Which is still up there as one of my favourite songs), and didn't get into it until about 98. I also missed Storm In Heaven completely until about 5 years ago... now that is some LP, their best imo.
