Subsequent to my Audi thread, why wife is also in the market for a new car. I’ve been using Lings as a good place to price compare PCP deals on different cars.

The A6 price on there was almost identical to the dealer price I ended up with. My wife wants either an XC60 or XC40. Lings deals are much better than the dealer prices. I am going with a dealer for my A6 as I have an XC90 to PX & it has £3k equity above the bubble price. The XC60/40 will be a straight purchase with no PX.

With that in mind I’m tempted to use a broker rather than dealer. They also include the tax as part of the deal, making it even better.

Anybody used Lingscars?

Get your brother in law to order it. It makes for a much better experience.

Don’t we have to insert the web address to summon her Lingness?

Can't edit my post, but had a good scurry about and I can't see any evidence of  Ling offering PCP - I assume you did mean PCP as you referred to purchasing? Ling is PCH (unless there's something I've missed)

The only difference in PCP or pch that I can see is whether you can purchase the car at the end. Ling states some finance companies will give you the option.

My wife is a commercial lawyer, so will be all over any small print.

Ive just skimmed the Ling thread from 3 months ago - a lot of hot air AFAICS.

That gif on her website is disturbing. I wonder if she realises it makes her look like she's receiving something very inappropriate from behind.

or maybe she does! Sickness.

Holy. H. Christ.

OP have you any idea what you have just done?

The forum is like a poorly sick little puppy right now. I don't think it can emotionally cope with a gazillion gifs.

I'm glad I'm not the only one that thinks that picture looks like a dodgy porno, although I thought it looked like she was just about to receive a load to the face!!

In update-related news, Mattyfez is now the OP on that thread, so Geordiemick is officially off the hook. <insertsmiley>

Make of the thread what you will, but one thing is for certain - Ling's as crazy as a rat in a tin shithouse.

Legit - Yes. And very successful.

Mad as a box of frogs, but there's a reason her website is like it is. No one is going to copy it that's for sure!

dantsw13...

You can't "skim read" the Ling thread.

I was there man,I saw <span style="font-size: 0.8rem;">things you people wouldn't believe.</span>

Attack gifs on fire off the hard shoulder of the A1 . C Class' glittering in the dark near the maidenhead HQ yard gates.

All those moments will be lost in time, like the letter from the CAB.

Time, to die.

The Ling thread was brilliant!! But I didn't see anything on it to suggest her buisness isn't legit.

Well, that depends on whether or not she honours the cooling off period...

The business is legit.

I suppose the fair thing to say is, is just that Ling tends to make up a legalities as she goes along.

On that note I'm off. No desire to get involved in that mud throwing again.

If you have every intention of purchasing the car then Ling seems like a good bet, if you are not 100% legit then she, like any broker, will tell you to sLing your hook. Make a decision on a regular, sensible car, stick to it, get a good deal, everyone wins.

She doesn't seem to have much truck for scoundrels, that's why her rates are good, she retains her good rates by only dealing with good business. I imagine you are not a scoundrel, though your wife sounds like one...

Ling 1 was a wonderful thread for the neutral spectator.  And a useful heads up for anyone thinking of dealing with the OP - at least now everyone knows mattyfez is one to be very wary of.  😀

I’m going to try and keep up with this one.

The last Ling thread had another 27 pages every time I logged on.

The thing is, I quite like Planet X too! Good bikes, good prices, but a lot of BS in the middle. Seems very similar!

If a car through Lings is £100/month less than the dealer, also including VED for the 4 years, I can put up with the crazy website. Once purchased, it’s between me & the finance company anyhow.

My last car was leased through Ling website.

Cheaper than any other deal at the time and no issues at all.
