Sheesh 😯 I'm 'friends' with the singer Shirley Manson and some of the fawning, sycophantic praise really makes me gag. I'd 'defriend' her but shes quite pleasing on the eye. That said some of the comments lack any sort of shame. Do stars actually like this shit? Are they that arrogant?

Anyone else??!

the singer Shirley Manson

Who?

I thought that and then I thought the fact he's had to put 'the singer' on the front might mean there were several famous Shirley Mansons. But I couldn't think of any others either.

Still, I'm sure hora's suitably sycophantic when posting on her pages.

Is it really her though or is it a fat middle aged man who's registered the name? Most of the "name" facebook sites I've seen are fansites or at best "official site of", with lots of facebook weirdos posting on it as if they're having a chat with the person.

I'm friends with a few iconic photographers and also some top end wedding photographers, and the fawning is just as bad. Often from people who really should know better.

Northwind alot, like Lewis Hamiltons will be PR types etc managing their 'message' though.

SM's strikes me as being her. Weird but its not marketing 'message/concert/release driven'- just stuff.

Regina Spektor's is like that too... Pages and pages of "LOL I haz a harry potter wand" and every so often "Oh yeah, I have an album out, I should probably promote that".

In defence of the weirdo posters:

The brother of a friend of mine has quite significant brain damage from birth and another episode a few years back. He appears to be normally functioning if rather annoying, but he's got major problems with comprehending people and relationships, and remembering stuff that you've told him. Quite unsettling actually when you find out how bad it is because at first he seems relatively normal.

Anyway, he's always friending these ridiculously 'hot' and possibly made up people on FB and talking as if he has been having a relationship with them. Mostly they are of the 'please talk to me my darling, I just want to know you're ok' variety as they've blocked or de-friended him.

There must be enough people out there with similar issues to populate the FB pages of famous people.

I 'liked' Jess Ennis' fb page & it appears to be just a marketing dream - 'oh, look my new book is out', 'here are the dates of my book signing, be sure to buy a copy', 'my wonderful watch sponsors have just sent me this amazing watch. Buy yours from xxx for only £yyy

Should have expected it really.

Then I realised they only ever posted when they had a new album or a tour coming up so now I dont.

Lewis Hamiltons will be PR types

I'm pretty sure his twitter isnt a PR person. If it is they should be sacked. He is so full of shit it is unbelievable.

EDIT: I would join/like The Official Hora Fan Club. If I had more time I would set it up then trawl through here for pictures. Alas I don't.

The irony for most of us is we are FB friends with someone who is a an actual friend (once removed so to speak). Or at least you've had online ramblings with.

Samuri took a pic of me on Sunday. He was purched by the side of the trail waiting for his riding buds to come down and I came through first. He posted up another pic on FB and I said 'hey was that this Sunday' and did you snap me?

Yip. Coincidence 😆

My brother in law (almost) posts the most inane updates:
"on the bus"
"off the bus"
"I love my GF"
"off to work - lame"
"its' raining (sic)"

He does have learning disabilities though - my wife tells me I'm not allowed to de-friend him.....
Think of the 'internet' that could be saved if FB vetted updates to only include witty, pertinent remarks...

Seriously, what the flip are you on about? You are so random, every time you post I get this warm fizzing feeling at the back of my head caused by RAGE

I honestly can't imagine what it must be like to have a pint with you...

Bloke1:'seen that new XTR crank?'
Bloke2:'yeah, looks a bit like a Nazi swastika thing doesn't it'
Hora: 'I once owned a collection of thimbles held in a gorgeous presentation box. It was at a price point I couldn't refuse and I'd love to investigate another. Sold by a small Dutch woman, who was proper cute and had come to bed eyes, which I nearly did, but then didn't because I'm not sexist...'

Well you'd be 2 pints poorer, for a start. I met him in the pub the other week. I gave him a loud of Helicopter tape for his new frame, and after he's left, I realised that to thank me for my generosity, he still managed to get away without actually buying me a pint! 🙄

Flange are you going through the manopause?

Why would you need specialist wig shops?

Afro-Carribean

Ever been to an area with such a large community? You tend to get a fair few shops (even grocers) selling allsort of wigs.

Maybe that's the problem - the facebook wit filter's been coded backwards.

At least that would explain why at the moment only utter dribble appears.

Atually, this applies to most of the internet, not just facebook.

So you stalk someone famous but you're a better person because you do it quietly?
It's not even proper stalking you coward. I bet you're the kind of bloke that pops to the local independant newsagent for some good old fashioned top shelf grot and comes out with a copy of FHM.

Could be worse - a friend (for a laugh) "friended" Steve Gutenberg (Police Academy etc). He friended her back, and started sending her some rather dodgy messages.

I like Twitter, it's interesting to see what people are really like. For instance I now like John Prescott, and Duncan Bannatyne is a complete ****.

A few of my actual friends are actors on popular TV shows.

I get regular (almost daily) Facebook friend requests from (usually) attractive girls I have never met. When I look at the "mutual friends" thing that shows up, it's always one or more of the actors.

Turns out that if some groupie manages to befriend one of them on FB, they go through their whole friend list trying to add everyone, on the basis that a large number of them are celebrities.

Can't imagine it works very often though, since most of them have personal accounts and "work" accounts.

I'd be lying if I said I didn't accept the request of the occasional, very attractive one. Just for a look 🙂

Talking of posting body hair, I'm reminded of the time I shaved off my imperial moustache and posted the abundance of coarse fur to a friend in Brighton, who was, yes, a homosexual.

He transformed my hair into an intriguing piece of modern art.

I can only think that I mentioned his sexuality as some sort of distraction, as it bears no relevance to the tale.
